How guests choose
How a guest finds a table in 2026
Four moments decide whether a booking comes to you. Most venues are strong in one or two and invisible in the rest.
- 01
They search Google and Maps
“Indian restaurant near me”, “pre-theatre dinner Covent Garden”. Your Google profile, photos, reviews and website pages decide whether you make the shortlist at all.
- 02
They scroll Instagram and TikTok
Food and rooms are chosen with the eyes. Phone snaps next to a competitor’s slow-motion reel lose the booking before anyone reads the menu.
- 03
They ask ChatGPT
More guests ask an AI where to go. It answers from what it can read about you: clear pages, menus, hours and reviews. Thin information means you are not mentioned.
- 04
They tap Book
Then it comes down to a phone screen. A slow site, a hidden booking button or a broken form sends the guest to the place next door.
What we have been building
Everything between the search and the booking
Content, Google, social, ads and websites under one roof, with a few things most agencies still do not do.
Booking tracking that tells the truth
The most common problem we find is not bad marketing. It is book-a-table buttons, calls and WhatsApp taps nobody is counting. We set up Google Analytics in an account you own, with proper consent, and track every booking, call and order click.
Showing up in AI search
Structured restaurant and menu data, booking links, FAQs and pages that answer what guests actually ask. It works for us too: most of Byter’s own enquiries in October came from people who found us through ChatGPT.
A Google profile that is looked after
Regular posts, offers and events using real photography of your venue. Google started rejecting posts with non-venue images this autumn, so stock pictures now cost you visibility.
Websites built around the booking
SevenRooms, OpenTable, Eveve or your own system built in, menus that read properly on a phone, and offers that switch themselves on and off: a lunch banner only at lunchtime, an event popup that retires the day after.
One team, one monthly report
Content, social, Google, ads and the website handled by one team that talks to each other, with a monthly report and a direct line to the people doing the work.

Questions venues ask
What is the Booking Check?
A hands-on review of the five places hospitality bookings are won or lost: your Google profile, your booking tracking, your visibility in AI search, your booking path on a phone, and your content. A person on our team does it, not a tool, and you get a short, plain-English list of what to fix first.
Does it cost anything?
No. It is free and there is no obligation. If you want help with what we find, we will talk through options; if you would rather fix it yourself, the list is yours.
What kinds of venues do you work with?
Restaurants, bars, cafes, hotels and serviced apartments, mostly in London. Our clients range from independent neighbourhood restaurants to Mayfair fine dining and West End venues with tens of thousands of reviews.
Do we have to sign up for everything?
No. Some venues use us for content days and social, some for Google and ads, some for the website, and some for all of it. Monthly plans start from £750 and you can build your own on our pricing page.
Who owns the data and accounts?
You do. We set analytics up in accounts your business owns, so the data stays with you whoever runs your marketing.
