Restaurant SEO in London: Get Found on Google, Maps and ChatGPT
Diners search "Indian restaurant Soho", "Sunday roast near me" or ask ChatGPT where to eat. We make sure your restaurant is the answer: on Google Maps, in search results, on the booking and review sites, and in AI recommendations.
Restaurant SEO is the work of making sure people who are deciding where to eat find you, and can book in a couple of taps. For a London restaurant that means four places: Google Maps and your Google Business Profile, your own website, the review and booking sites such as Tripadvisor and OpenTable, and now AI assistants such as ChatGPT.
We work with London restaurants every day, and in October 2026 we studied how ChatGPT recommends them. Across 115 answers to 60 diner questions, 86% of the ratings it showed came from Tripadvisor, 86% of answers cited a guide such as Time Out or the Michelin Guide, and it linked to the restaurant's own website for 84% of the places it named. Restaurant SEO now has to cover all of those sources, not just Google.
The good news is that it rewards specific, accurate information more than size. A neighbourhood restaurant with a few hundred reviews can win "best Lebanese in Marylebone" or "birthday dinner for 10 in Soho" if every source says it is the answer.
Google Business Profile and Maps
Most restaurant searches end on the map, not on a website. We set up and manage your Google Business Profile: the right categories, opening hours that stay accurate through bank holidays, a menu and booking link, fresh photos every month, posts for events and offers, and replies to every review.
We also check the details that quietly cost covers: a pin in the wrong place, two listings for one restaurant, a phone number that goes to an old supplier, or hours that say open when you are closed.
A website that answers the search
Search engines and AI assistants read text, not photos of menus. We put your menu on the page as text, name your area, street and nearest station, and give each occasion that brings bookings its own page: private dining, pre-theatre, Sunday roast, brunch, halal, vegan, group bookings, Christmas parties.
Each page answers the question in its first lines, carries Restaurant and Menu structured data, loads fast on a phone and puts the booking button where a hungry person can find it.
Tripadvisor, OpenTable and the guides
In our study, Tripadvisor supplied 168 of the 195 ratings ChatGPT showed, and OpenTable pages came up in 64% of its searches. We claim and complete these listings, keep them in step with your website, and run an honest review programme: every guest is asked, nobody is offered anything in return.
Guides decide many shortlists. Time Out, The Infatuation, the Michelin Guide, Harden's and SquareMeal were the most cited sources. We help you give them a reason to write about you, from a new menu or chef to an opening, and make sure your details are right when they do.
ChatGPT and AI recommendations
We test the questions your guests ask in clean ChatGPT sessions, record whether you are named and which sources the answer relies on, fix what is missing and test again. The same work lifts you in Google's AI Overviews, which draw on the pages already ranking for the question.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is restaurant SEO?
Restaurant SEO is making sure diners who are deciding where to eat find you and can book: on Google Maps, in search results, on review and booking sites such as Tripadvisor and OpenTable, and in AI assistants such as ChatGPT.
How much does restaurant SEO cost in London?
Basic SEO is £300 a month plus VAT and full SEO £600 a month plus VAT. It is also included in our marketing packages from £750 a month, on a six-month term that then runs month to month.
Does ChatGPT use Google reviews for restaurants?
In our study of 115 ChatGPT answers about London restaurants, 86% of the ratings it showed came from Tripadvisor and none were labelled as Google. Google reviews still matter a great deal for Google Maps and Google's own AI answers.
How long does restaurant SEO take to work?
Fixes to your Google profile and listings can show within weeks. Ranking for competitive searches such as a cuisine plus a busy area usually takes three to six months of steady work.
Do I need a new website?
Not always. Many restaurant sites only need the menu as text, clear area and occasion pages and a working booking button. If your site is slow or hard to edit, a managed website starts at £125 a month.
