How Much Does a Restaurant Marketing Agency Cost in London?

··4 min read

Short answer: at Byter, restaurant marketing starts at £750 a month plus VAT and most London restaurants sit between £1,500 and £3,000 a month. Content shoots are priced separately, from £650 plus VAT for a half day. Packages run on a six-month term, then month to month. Ad spend is paid straight to Google or Meta and is not part of the fee.

The rest of this page explains what you get at each level, what pushes the price up or down, and how to compare quotes from different agencies so you are comparing like with like.

What each level includes

These are our published prices. Every package includes a named account manager, monthly reporting and access to Byter Lab, our client portal.

PackageMonthly fee (ex VAT)Content each monthChannels
Bronze£75045 photos, 2 Reels, ShortsSocial media management, Meta ads, basic SEO
Silver£1,50060 photos, 4 Reels, ShortsAdds Google ads, influencer marketing, campaign analysis, full SEO
Gold£3,00080 photos, 6 Reels, ShortsAdds email marketing (2 newsletters a month)

Bronze suits a single-site restaurant that needs a steady, good-looking Instagram and a simple Meta campaign. Silver is where most independents with a booking target land, because it adds Google ads, which catch people searching "restaurant near me" or "Indian restaurant Soho" at the moment they decide. Gold suits groups and destination venues that also want a regular email to past guests, which is usually the cheapest booking you can buy.

You can also buy single services. Social media management on its own is £500 a month, Google or Meta ads management from £500 a month each, and full SEO £600 a month. Our pricing page has a calculator that adds them up.

Content shoots

Good photos and video do more for a restaurant than almost anything else, so most clients book a shoot as well as a package.

  • Half-day shoot: £650 plus VAT, up to 4 hours of photography and video.
  • Full-day shoot: £1,200 plus VAT, up to 6 hours.

Shoots are planned with you beforehand (dishes, drinks, the room, the team) and the files are edited and delivered in the sizes each platform needs. A new menu, a refit or a seasonal launch are the usual moments to reshoot.

What drives the price

Number of sites. A group with three restaurants needs three Google profiles, often three sets of content and ads split by location. Expect a bespoke quote rather than three times a package.

How much content you need. Video is the biggest variable. Four edited Reels a month costs more to produce than a photo grid.

Ad budget and complexity. Management fees in our packages are a starting point. A restaurant spending a few hundred pounds a month on Meta needs less management than one running Google, Meta and TikTok across several sites.

Whether you need a website. If your site is slow, missing the menu as text or has no clear booking button, ads and SEO will leak. A managed website starts at £125 a month; a one-off build is quoted separately.

Launches. Opening a new restaurant needs more work up front: brand, shoot, a run-up campaign and press. That is quoted as a project.

How to compare quotes

Agency quotes for restaurants vary a lot, and the cheapest is rarely the cheapest per booking. When you compare, ask each agency:

  1. What exactly is delivered each month? Number of photos, videos, posts and campaigns, in writing.
  2. Is ad spend included? It should not be. If an agency bundles media into its fee, you cannot see what you are really paying for management.
  3. What do you report on? You want covers, bookings and cost per booking, not just followers and reach.
  4. Do I own my accounts? Your Instagram, Google profile, ad accounts and website should stay in your name.
  5. What is the minimum term? Ours is six months, then month to month. Be wary of 12-month lock-ins with vague deliverables.
  6. Which restaurants can you name? An agency that works in hospitality should show you live venues, not stock photos.

Is it worth it?

It depends on the numbers, so work them out before you sign. Take your average spend per head and how many extra covers a month the agency would need to bring in to pay for itself. For a restaurant with a £45 average spend, a £1,500 package needs around 34 extra covers a month to cover its own cost before food costs, or about two extra tables of four a week. If the agency cannot explain how it will track that, keep looking.
